Covid-19 Virus Information Portal

This update is aimed at all PAM colleagues , our clients and their employees. There appears to be a misunderstanding about how we as a country stop the spreading of the Covid-19 virus. Everybody in the UK has been asked to stop non-essential contact and stay at home wherever possible.

This virus is spread from person to person therefore we must all restrict any interactions with others.

Any interaction with other outside your immediate household must be kept to an absolute minimum. If people have to go outside - to buy food for example - they must stay more than 2 meters apart from others. Cafes, pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres have been told to close, to keep people apart. Many shops are making decisions to close e.g. McDonalds and Costa Coffee. Businesses do not decide to close unless they have absolutely no alternative

The move is part of social distancing measures to minimise non-essential contact.

People with flu-like symptoms - such as a dry cough and high temperature - are being asked to self-isolate at home to avoid infecting others. And the NHS is contacting about 1.5 million people with serious health conditions to urge them not to go out for at least 12 weeks. This is known as shielding.

So why is social distancing necessary?

Social distancing is important because coronavirus spreads when an infected person coughs small droplets - packed with the virus - into the air. These can be breathed in, or can cause an infection if you touch a surface they have landed on, and then touch your face with unwashed hands. The less time people spend together, the less chance there is of this happening.

What social distancing involves

  •  Work from home whenever possible

  • Avoid all unnecessary travel

  • Stay away from  other people and do not go to any crowded places

  • Stay two metres from other people

  • Avoid gatherings with friends and families wherever possible

PAM will act to protect its colleagues at work and we encourage our clients to do likewise. However we all must play our part in fighting this disease. We would encourage everyone to keep away from other not only at work but also in your social life. Everyone should encourage friends and family to do the same.

Every contact with a person outside your household is a risk of infection or spreading infection.

Occupational Health Services

Many of our services are being delivered remotely, we will only be delivering face to face services where it is safe for our colleagues to do so and where the services being delivered are to keep Essential Workers and essential services operating.

Now is the time we must all play our part:

  • Stay at home,

  • Keep safe and minimise contact with others

  • Take simple measures to protect your wellness wash hands regularly and follow health advice and

  • Don’t take risks.
